Film (cinema)

In addition to the personal statement, film (cinema) applicants must complete the “Education and Life” essay as it appears on the VCU application; this essay should address any film work done.

You must also complete an essay discussing a story that you want to tell on film (maximum length 200 words). If you have written a screenplay, please send the first 10 pages plus the title page.

All transfer applicants to the program are also required to submit a résumé.

All applicants must submit at least one undergraduate reference form as required by the School of the Arts at large. Supplemental materials (résumés, extra recommendations, etc.) will be reviewed but are not required. After the initial review of completed application packets, interviews may be requested of certain applicants by the Cinema Admissions Committee.
