All you need to know about applying to VCU as a transfer student is right here. On your mark, get set, go!
Find out what you need for consideration at VCU. It will only take a moment to glance through the academic requirements for admission. You’ll also find important information on test scores and VCU’s personal computer policy presented in an easy-to-read format. For additional info, visit the VCU Transfer Center website.
Please read the instructions carefully before filling out the online application.
The instructions include a list of general admission criteria, as well as details about required materials and documentation that you need to send in to the VCU Office of Admissions in order for your application to be considered complete. Also included in the instructions is information about special requirements and supplemental materials necessary for applying for scholarships and to be considered for admission to specific programs.
Applicants to undergraduate programs on the Monroe Park Campus must apply using the electronic application. Students who apply electronically will be able to check their application status by creating a VCU VIP page and logging in to be sure we have received all required materials (admissions decisions are not provided online).
The application fee for applying online is $65 and may be paid by credit card. The application fee is nonrefundable.
Please be aware that students interested in undergraduate programs on the Monroe Park Campus should submit only one application for a specific semester (for example, a student should submit only one application for fall 2013) and may apply to only one undergraduate degree program. If you need to make a change to your application once it has been submitted, please email your requested changes to your application processor in the Office of Admissions. You may determine who your processor is by visiting the processor contact information. Do not submit an additional application. If you submit more than one application for a semester, only one application will be processed.
Applicants should review the admission requirements. Some programs, including those in the School of the Arts, require additional materials to be submitted in order for an application to be considered complete.
Transfer students and current VCU students who wish to apply to undergraduate programs in clinical laboratory sciences, clinical radiation sciences, dental hygiene and nursing on the MCV Campus should be aware that courses and credit requirements for admission vary for each program. Applicants to any of these programs must submit supplemental admissions materials, all of which are available online.
The selection process for admission into these undergraduate health sciences programs is based on a number of factors, including academic records, communication skills, experience, personal characteristics and test results. Each program utilizes a self-managed application process and faculty committees to evaluate criteria appropriate to the profession.
While VCU does not require your Social Security number for admission consideration, it is necessary for applicants who wish to be considered for financial aid and Hope Scholarship/Lifetime Learning tax credit to provide a Social Security number to the university. To protect your privacy, your Social Security number will not be used as your VCU student identification number.
