The University Student Commons, opened in 1984 and expanded in 1992 and 2004, houses offices for various student programs and services, as well as a food court and lounge area, and provides students a central gathering place to study, socialize and eat.

The University Career Center, located within the Commons, offers students numerous resources for help with resume writing, experiential learning and job searching.
Break Point

With a valid VCU ID, students enjoy the Break Point games room, located in the lower level of the Commons. Featuring 10 pool tables, Thunder Bowl, poker tables and a video game lounge, Break Point provides students with a great space to host an event for a student organization, a sorority or fraternity social or any occasion worth celebrating.
Park Place Food Court

For a quick bite, Park Place Food Court, located in the Commons, serves favorites from Chick-fil-A®, burgers, fries and Tex-Mex items from Grille Works, Asian-inspired selections from Nao and Zen, and pizza slices and calzones from Bène Pizza.
University Student Commons Plaza

The Commons holds events in its outdoor courtyard for student groups, VCU departments and, on a limited basis, individuals and non-university groups.
