The VCU field hockey team calls Cary Street Field home. The large, lighted facility, which served as the site of the 1992 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, seats 1,200 and features an artificial turf playing surface.

Located to the west of Cary Street Field, directly across Harrison Street, the West Cary Street Parking Deck offers spaces for students, faculty and staff.

Mary and Frances Youth CenterMary and Frances Youth Center

120 South Linden Street
Opened in 2007, the Mary and Frances Youth Center is home to Lobs & Lessons, a program that teaches tennis and life lessons to local schoolchildren. Construction of the center was made possible by a private gift from Michael Fraizer, chairman and CEO of Genworth Financial Inc., and his wife Elizabeth.

Thalhimer Tennis CenterThalhimer Tennis Center

5 South Linden Street
The outdoor Thalhimer Tennis Center, which has six courts and seats 250 spectators, offers students year-round tennis play with the installation of “the bubble” in the winter. Across the street sits the future home of the Cary Street Recreation Center, a 100,000-square-foot facility proposed for completion in December 2009 that will include a swimming pool, several fitness rooms, basketball courts, gymnasiums, two tennis courts and a climbing wall.
