Formerly known as the General Purpose Academic Building, the T. Edward Temple Building houses the School of Mass Communications and its administrative and faculty offices, classrooms, technology labs and the Mass Comm Reading Room.

The east wing of Temple houses four “smart classrooms,” equipped with a variety of media, all operated through a centralized remote-control system. Five classrooms in the building include overhead projectors and/or TVs and VCRs, and three additional rooms provide video projection from laptops, VHS players and/or auxiliary devices.
CreateAthon
On March 13, 2008, more than 40 mass communications student volunteers participated in the first CreateAthon onCampus, a 24-hour marathon of creative work for 12 Richmond-area nonprofit organizations.
VCU TV/HD
VCU TV/HD, one of the first student-run television production operations in the country, produces TV programming in high-definition format. Through a partnership with Community Idea Stations, programs air on a regular schedule over WCVW Richmond PBS. Photo by: VCU TV/HD
Emergency Reporting Telephone
Various locations throughout campus
Nearly 300 Emergency Reporting Telephone System phones, located at various areas throughout the Monroe Park and MCV campuses, connect directly to the VCU Police Department.
