Are freshmen allowed to have vehicles on campus?
Yes, all students are allowed to have cars on campus; however, as an urban university, parking can sometimes be a challenge.
What public transportation is available?
The city of Richmond maintains the Greater Richmond Transit Company bus system, which has four bus lines that make stops on campus. Full-time VCU students can ride GRTC buses year round using the VCUCard and a transit pass, available through the VCU Parking and Transportation Office and can get to almost anywhere in and around the city limits. The GRTC transit pass is issued on a per semester basis and costs $50 per semester.
Is there a way to get between the Monroe Park and MCV campuses?
VCU maintains a shuttle bus service between its two campuses. The shuttles runs Monday to Friday, 7:15 a.m. to midnight during the academic year. Visit the Parking and Transportation Services Web site to view schedules and maps for the entire transit system.
