Hi, my name is Alisha. I’m a senior and I’m a criminal justice major. I came to VCU on a campus tour with my best friend the summer of my junior year. After walking around I just loved the city feeling and I’ve never really been to Richmond, just driven through it. Once I got here and after the tour I just got the feeling that I knew I was going to come here. Everything told me that ‘I’m going to VCU.’
On the tour, the tour guide took us down Shafer and Franklin and off of Franklin Street there are a lot of historic buildings. We still have the busy, city vibe but it just kept the historic presence.
I live in Ackell and I live in a four-bedroom apartment style so it’s me and three other girls. We’re like a little family. We get together on Sundays and watch reality TV. We love Keeping up with the Kardashians. We all sit down in the living room and do nails and hair and have all that girl time and stuff like that.
One of the perks of living on campus is everything is close by. It’s maybe a five, maybe 10 minute walk to class. I’m the type of person that I want to do everything close so I even have an on campus job where I can literally walk across the street to work.
