About the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
What brought you to VCU?
I’ve lived in Richmond all of my life. After I graduated from college, I returned home to be with family and friends. VCU seemed like a natural transition for me right after college because I was so used to being in a collegiate environment.
Name three adjectives that describe the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Goal-oriented, busy and comfortable.
What do you enjoy most about meeting prospective VCU students?
I love seeing their reactions to our unique urban campus and realizing it’s really not ‘spread out.’
Best part of your job:
What I enjoy most is arranging campus visits for groups of prospective students. Although many groups come from schools and organizations from within Virginia, I have had the opportunity to host groups from states as far as Kentucky, Michigan, New York and Rhode Island, as well as St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., France and Spain.
What’s your favorite place on campus?
The secluded picnic table area beside the Millhiser House.
About me
What don’t most people know about you?
Most people don’t know that I took a belly dancing class where I channeled my inner Shakira.
What are you reading right now?
“Other Ways to Win: Creating Alternatives for High School Graduates” by Gray and Herr.
What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon?
Any Sunday when I do not have a big assignment due for class the following week.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I went through so many phases. To name a few, I wanted to be a painter/artist, stockbroker, make-up artist for celebrities and an elementary school teacher.
What do you order at Starbucks?
I love white chocolate mochas with a shot of vanilla.
