Fast-paced, energetic and motivated.
What do you enjoy most about meeting prospective VCU students?
I love meeting students and communicating with them throughout the admissions process. The most rewarding thing is to see students that I’ve worked with actually on the campus, whether it’s during an information session and tour, or Open House with their friends and families enjoying themselves. However, when I see the students that I’ve worked with arrive on campus in the fall, that is the most rewarding part of my job.
What are three things we’ll find in your suitcase?
A book, my VCU hoodie and sweat pants to relax in, and my laptop.
What’s one thing you don’t travel without?
My cell phone and navigation system. They go hand-in-hand in keeping me from getting lost during my travels.
What’s your favorite place on campus?
The University Student Commons — there’s great food and almost always something fun and entertaining going on there.

What don’t most people know about you?
I hate tomatoes. I will only eat them if they’re cooked down and have been turned into some kind of sauce.
What’s on your iPod?
A mix of everything including gospel, R&B, hip-hop, rap, go-go, reggae and a little country.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I used to think that I’d follow in the footsteps of my parents and grandparents and become a teacher. Although being an admissions counselor is not teaching, it still allows me to work with students and provides me with fulfillment.
What do you order at Starbucks?
Grande mocha with whipped cream.
Who inspires you?
My parents and grandparents are my inspiration. They inspire me to challenge myself and strive to be successful in all that I do.
