About the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
What brought you to VCU?
After living most recently in Vermont and Northeast Ohio, my husband and I decided we deserved to live in a better climate. When he was offered a job in Richmond, we jumped at the chance to live in the South where spring is really a separate season and not just the end of winter.
What do you enjoy most about meeting prospective VCU students?
Their diversity. VCU is the most diverse campus where I have worked. Our students come from all around the country and world, bringing their own unique characteristics to our community.
What are three things we’ll find in your suitcase?
Workout shoes and clothes, and hair conditioner. The shampoo/conditioner-in-one that you find in hotels just doesn’t work.
Best part of your job:
No two days are the same. I end up learning something new every day.
What’s your favorite place on campus?
The library. So many books, so little time and with a Starbucks, too — what could be better?
About me
What don’t most people know about you?
I was the managing director of a modern dance company.
What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon?
Finishing the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle before dinner.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A ballerina. Working for a dance company was about as close as I ever got.
What do you order at Starbucks?
Tall brewed coffee … black. I guess if I couldn’t be a ballerina, I could still consume their favorite drink.
What inspires you?
Beautiful music and art.
