Carol Sesnowitz

Hello! I’m Carol Sesnowitz, director of out-of-state recruitment in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Virginia Commonwealth University. I joined the admissions staff at VCU after moving to Richmond in 2000 from Vermont. Prior to that I lived in Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York — which makes me the admissions staff member with the most diverse geographical background!
I began my career teaching reading and language arts to fourth through eighth graders before returning to school to earn my M.B.A. Since then I have had a variety of experiences — from working as managing director of a modern dance company, to teaching and developing for a computer software company, to teaching proposal-writing workshops. For the past 18 years I have worked in higher education administration; the past three years I’ve been here at VCU. The university has much to offer a prospective student, from its varied program offerings and wonderfully diverse student population, to its location in the beautiful city of Richmond, the capital of Virginia. With its rich cultural environment, its historical heritage and vibrant business community, our city offers students many opportunities to learn and grow beyond the “traditional” classroom.
I am happy to speak with students and their parents about VCU and the city of Richmond. Whether you are from nearby Chesterfield County or from as far away as Alaska, I extend an invitation to you to come and visit us. We look forward to seeing you here at VCU!
Send me an e-mail if you have questions at casesnow@vcu.edu.
